A club favorite, we will be having our annual speech contest on January 24, 2025 at our club meeting at Del Paso Country Club.  Join us as we hear from students from Encina High presenting their speeches using the theme "The Magic of Service".  The meeting will start at 7:30 am.

Join us for this special meeting when our speakers will be Peter Le Lievre and Chuck Thompson with the Flying Samaritans.  The Flying Sams are a group of professionals from many different walks of life interested in helping provide healthcare services monthly at no charge to the people in Baja California, Mexico who otherwise have no access to medical, dental and vision care. They are physicians, nurses, dentists, pilots, translators and many other people who serve as "helpers".  Learn more about this amazing organization and what they do to make a difference in the lives of others.  We'll be meeting at Del Paso Country Club beginning at 7:30 am.

Join us on Friday, February 7, 2025 when we'll hear from Todd Koolakian about the Sacramento Children's Home.  He is the Director of Philanthropy for the Children's Home, as well as the Immediate Past President of the Rotary Club of Sacramento and currently serves as an Assistant Governor for our District.  The meeting will be at Del Paso Country Club beginning at 7:30 am.

Our speaker for our meeting on February 21, 2025 will be Erica Bishop, Program Manager with the Water Forum.  Erica is responsible for planning and implementation of habitat projects along the Lower American River corridor.  This should be an interesting and informative presentation...so don't miss out!  The meeting will begin at 7:30 am, location TBD.

Join us this Friday - our speaker will be Dani Wogulis, Development Manager with CASA Sacramento.  Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) mission is to ensure consistency and support for children in the foster care system through the use of volunteer advocates advancing the best interests of each child.  Some of our members have served as CASA advocates helping children in foster care in our community.  The meeting will start at 7:30 am, location is to be determined.

Join us for an exciting meeting where we will hear from Sarah Junkin Woodard...one of our International Partners on a Rotary global grant!  Sarah is a founding member of the Ciudad Sandino Rotary Club in Nicaragua and she works with the Jubilee House Community...the recipient of our support through a Rotary global grant.  She builds bridges and opens opportunities for international service connections between U.S. Rotarians and Nicaraguans, actively participating in both COVID-19 relief and hurricane relief efforts.  Our meeting will begin at 7:30 am, location TBD.

Joining us again as a speaker will be Col. (Ret) John McKay.  Colonel McKay enlisted in the Marine Corps in January 1962.  He was part of the designated landing force for the envisioned invasion of Cuba in the Fall of 1962.  He was appointed from the ranks to the U. S. Naval Academy in 1964.  He served two tours in Vietnam.  Retired, Col McKay was involved with the CIA in Palestine, and South America.  Civil sector employment entailed positions in West Africa and Jerusalem.  He was with the DEA as a special assistant to the  Director of Intelligence, concentrating on Mexican drug cartels.  Until the pandemic, Col McKay was an Adjunct Professor at California State University, Sacramento.  He is currently involved in bringing to justice alleged perpetrators of war crimes committed during the El Salvadorian civil war.  He will speak at our meeting on March 14, location TBD.

Don't miss this week's meeting when our speaker will be Toni Fox, West Regional Trainer and Outreach Coordinator, with the Set Me Free Project.  They are a nonprofit organization whose mission is to stop human trafficking before it starts by providing prevention education to all ages.  Interesting and informative...and not to be missed!  The meeting will start at 7:30 am and the location is TBD.

Please join us for this informative and insightful presentation by Bonnie Rea, Family Care Specialist with the Alzheimer's Association.  The Alzheimer's Association is the leading, global voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care and support, and the largest private, nonprofit funder of Alzheimer's research. Bonnie provides direct services to individuals living with mild cognitive impairment, Alzheimer's disease and other dementias, and their families. She conducts education workshops, facilitates support groups, provides care consultation, oversees early stage programs, and leads outreach and community engagement efforts to the diverse communities in the greater Sacramento region.  This is your opportunity to learn about this disease from an expert!  We will be meeting at Del Paso Country Club - the meeting begins at 7:30 am.
