Collaboration works! Three clubs in District 5180 came together to create a great project to bring transportation to youth in our community. The Rotary Clubs of Point West Rotary, Arden Arcade and American River joined in purchasing a Rotary Van that is wrapped in Rotary branding. More importantly, the passenger van has been donated to both the Fulton-El Camino and Mission Oaks Recreation and Park Districts to transport students to youth activities throughout the area. As part of the unveiling, Rotarians also provided students from Aspire High School with a hands-on vehicle maintenance tutorial, covering basics such as checking tire pressure and tread, fluids, windshield wipers and how to change a tire.
The presentation was captured by Channel 13 News featuring the current presidents of each of the Rotary Clubs involved - Dorthe Wright, Point West Rotary; Matt Ross, Arden Arcade Rotary; and Allison Hamaker, American River Rotary.
