PARTNERS IN LEADERSHIP, 2022

The 9th annual Partners in Leadership conference is scheduled for Friday, January 21, 2022. This annual event is in its 9th year.  (It would have been ten years, except for Covid).
30 students at Encina High School have been invited to attend, recommended by their teachers, counselor or Principal.  These students have demonstrated leadership qualities, good grades
and eagerness to become community leaders.

The all day event will include a welcome by District Governor Desiree Wilson,  sessions led by facilitators, Mark Albrecht, Jennifer Curtsinger and Tom Knox, a panel of local leaders at lunch
and a fun concluding skit that will demonstrate the learnings of the day.

Ten years ago, DG Desiree Wilson and a team of Point West Rotarians started the now annual conference, working with our partner school, Encina High School.  The conference is followed by monthly “roundtables” at the high school, whereby students can further practice and review skills learned at the conference.

During the conference, each student is paired with a member of the Point West Rotary Club for one-on-one conversations.  There are fun and informative exercises that give each participant insight into their own abilities and gifts.

Larry Challis and Sandy Thompson are chairing the conference.  Both have been facilitators and mentors In past conferences.

Requests for mentors for the January 21, 2022 event will be in early January, 2022. 30 mentors will be needed.
