The Rotary Foundation is organized as a public charity operated exclusively for charitable purposes and governed by a Board of Trustees. The operations of Rotary International, a member organization, are overseen by its Board of Directors. The headquarters of Rotary International and The Rotary Foundation are in Evanston, Illinois, USA.

The mission of The Rotary Foundation is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty. The Rotary Foundation helps fund Rotary’s humanitarian activities, from local service projects to global initiatives.

Each member in the Rotary Club of Point West is asked to make an annual contribution to the Foundation. The amount of the donation can be as little as $5. Most members make a annual contribution of $100 but it is up to the individual. The member can choose the area where he or she wishes the donation. Many contributors select the Annual fund if they have no specific area of interest. Other request their donation be made to the Polio Plus program focusing on eradicating Polio in the world.
