SERVING THE COMMUNITY AND THE WORLD
Over the last several decades, Point West Rotary has proudly supported the California Eagles golf program at Haggin Oaks.  PWR has provided financial support over the years as well as having many members showing up on Tuesday nights (each week from May to September) at Haggin Oaks to be coaches to the many athletes in the program.   Our club recently finished out another year serving as coaches and we want to thank all of those that participated...PWR members Russ Fujii, Robert Haney, Bea Maurer, Mike Bede, Kathi Berger, Sandy Thompson, Tom Engwer, Joanie Mather, Glen Cheron, DeWana Ljung, Desiree Wilson as well as Ed Schatz, J.R. Corcoran, Jake Slaven, Zach Berger, Dwight Chambers. It was an amazing year and we think the coaches had as much fun as the athletes!

The California Eagles is a golf program for athletes of all ages with special needs. The program includes, but is not limited to, those with Down’s Syndrome, Muscular Dystrophy, Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Attention Deficit Disorder, autism, deafness, blindness, or recovering from heart attacks and strokes.
Point West Rotarians stepped up last month to help clean out the Oak Park Rotary House and get it ready for the next family to move in.  Joining in the work effort were Lisa Lilienthal and her husband Gene, Joanie Mather, Desirée Wilson, Mike Barger and current club president Paul Cunha.

Families from all over Northern California have stayed at the Oak Park Rotary House -- some for a year or more -- while their child undergoes extended treatment for cancer, leukemia, or life-threatening complications from premature birth…for FREE!

After donating $5,000 to the organization, over 20 Point West Rotarians gathered together to put together 200 boxes of creative materials for children in the hospital that have been diagnosed with cancer.  Cindy Costa, Founder and CEO of All About Hope, guided the Rotarians in organizing and creating the boxes for the children.  Crayons, paints, glue sticks, canvas, journals and more...the boxes will bring comfort to children in the hospital.  All About Hope gives hospitalized children and their families the tools they need to dream beyond the confines of their hospital room. By providing Hope Boxes filled with art supplies and project ideas, children are transported from their current situation and into the incredible world of their imagination—lifting their spirits, improving their quality of life, and promoting hope for recovery.
